How do I get paid with Crate?

Crate takes the payment methods of the market a merchant sells in: cards and digital wallets with bank transfer in the United States, Europe and Canada, and card, bank transfer, USSD and pay on delivery across Nigeria and the rest of Africa. A payment in Crate is matched to its order automatically, the business gets an alert the moment the money lands, and the sale, the customer record and the stock update together. Money collected through Crate is withdrawn to the business's own bank account. Crate prices and settles in the merchant's own currency, USD or NGN. Crate publishes no settlement schedule and no fee table on this page, because those are set with the payment provider and Crate does not quote a figure it has not confirmed.

What it does

Capabilities

A payment that is not matched to its order is a reconciliation job. None of these leave one behind.

The methods your market uses

Customers pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or bank transfer, rather than by whatever a foreign platform happens to support.

Matched to the order

A payment lands against its order automatically, with no manual matching.

Instant alerts

You know the moment money lands, before the customer has to ask.

Payouts to your bank

Money from card sales lands in your bank account on a rolling two-day schedule. Nothing to claim, nothing to withdraw.

Invoices and payment links

Send a branded invoice or a link for a custom order, with the receipt generated on payment.

Refunds from the order

Refund from the order itself rather than from a second dashboard, and the stock returns.

Who it is for

Fit

Getting paid is where most of the manual work in a small business actually is.

You are chasing transfers by screenshot

A payment matched to its order removes the screenshot, the guessing and the follow-up message.

You sell custom or made to order

A payment link in the conversation takes the deposit before the work starts.

You take money in more than one place

Store, chat and counter payments land in one balance, so there is one number to reconcile.

Setup

How it works

One connection, then it runs without you.

  1. Connect your payment provider from the payments settings.
  2. Choose the methods you want offered at checkout.
  3. Take a small test payment and refund it, to see both directions.
  4. Withdraw to your bank account on your own schedule.

Set up from a phone. No developer, no plugin to buy, nothing to install.

Payments and payouts questions

What payment methods can my customers use?

Customers can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank transfer, and you get an instant alert the moment the money lands.

How do I get my money?

Money from card sales lands in your bank account on a rolling two-day schedule. Nothing to claim, nothing to withdraw.

Can I send an invoice or a payment request?

Yes. You can send a branded invoice or a payment link for a custom order, and a receipt is generated automatically on payment.

Can I take international payments?

You can sell to customers abroad and settle to your own local account in US dollars. The exact supported currencies are confirmed inside your account.

What does it cost to get paid?

Any fees are shown plainly before a payment is confirmed, so both you and your customer see the amount before anyone commits. Crate does not add a percentage on top of your provider's fees.
